What to bring

- Clothing: Costa Rica is a very informal and casual country. Formal attire is only used in the city of San Jose and on very special occasions (Weddings, birthdays, anniversaries)
- We recommend to bring a sweater for the highland areas, and light loose fitting shirts, pants or jeans, and shorts for the lowland areas
- For the beach areas please don't forget to bring a hat or cap, sunscreen, and sun glasses
- For the rainforest and the National Parks we recommend hiking boots, a small backpack, water bottle, pocket knife, flashlight, insect repellent, rainwear, and a pair of binoculars to observe animals.

Day 1
Meet and greet at the airport and transfer to hotel for your first night.

Overnight at Hotel Presidente standard room.(B)

Day 2
Early in the morning, transfer to our office to pick up your bike. Ride south the Panamerican Highway crossing the “hill of death” into San Gerardo de Dota.

San Gerardo is also a paradise for birdwatchers as it has more than 170 bird species, including some of the most rare and endangered bird species. It is a special place for watching the resplendent quetzal bird, one of the most ornate creatures of the wild which belongs to the family of Trogonidae. In the past only royalty were permitted to wear Quetzal feathers which served as a substitute for the gems and diamonds known to European royalty. Mayan kings wore headdresses of dozens of the long feathers with their stunning iridescence.

Overnight at Trogon Lodge standard room.(B)

Day 3
Early in the morning, take a hike though the cloud forest, if you lucky you will be able to spot a “quetzal” bird. Continue to Manuel Antonio and enjoy the national park and beach or take the south loop via Cortez, Palmar, Buenos Aires & San Isidro then continue to Manuel Antonio.

Considered to be Costa Rica’s most beautiful park, with enchanting white-sand beaches ideal for swimming, and tropical rainforest forest alive with wildlife. Watch for the monkeys and iguanas who share the park with you. Most hotels are small and intimate, set high on a hill overlooking the rain forest, endless beaches and the national park. Options abound here! Whether you are looking for a romantic honeymoon hideaway or an action-packed visit, this premier destination has the answer.

Overnight at Costa Verde Hotel studio room (B)

Day 4
Today you have a long ride to La Fortuna Town, at the base of the world famous Arenal Volcano.

Arenal’s perfectly symmetrical shape makes it a sightseer’s dream, while its abundance of outdoor activities makes it an easy place to check things off your “must-do in Costa Rica” list. So visit one of the nicest volcanoes in Costa Rica, cloud forests, a lake world-famous for windsurfing and an incredibly diverse population of wildlife is just part of what you will find in this amazing area of Costa Rica.

Overnight at Volcano Lodge & Gardens superior room (B)

Day 5
Perhaps in the morning you will like to do Canopy Tour on your hotel. Continue your ride to Tamarindo Beach.

Both nature and beach lovers will find plenty here to fill their days. Tamarindo is famous for its stunning beaches, its marine national park and wildlife refuge. This area encompasses beaches that attract one of the largest leatherback turtle populations in the world. Peak nesting seasons in the area are October through January. Due to its constant waves, it is also one of the favorite places for surfers.

Overnight at Tamarindo Diria Resort tropical poolside room (B)

Day 6
Continue north via Liberia and reach Rincon de La Vieja National Park.

This park is named after the active Rincon de la Vieja Volcano. Being one of the most accessible volcanoes of the area, you can reach the numerous cones, craters, and lagoons either on horseback or by foot. In here you will also find fumaroles and boiling mud pools, steam vents, and sulfurous hot springs with therapeutic properties. Various tours are offered outside the park including canopy, horseback, hiking, and birding tours.
