Are the roads paved?

The itineraries are designed to be almost entirely on paved roads, however you can not experience the natural side of Costa Rica without traveling occasionally on well surfaced but unpaved roads. Some of the approaches to our lodges are not paved however we stress that any experienced road rider can easily handle the unpaved portions. By design we are cautious to avoid anything which is to technical. For those who wish to explorer, the BMW F 650 GS, KTM 640 LC4, KTM 950 LC8 or Aprilia Pegaso 650 Trial is perfectly suited for off the beaten path touring.
